Farewell for Dame Georgina Kingi DNZM St Joseph’s Māori Girls’ College

On 22nd September, Students, Staff, Sisters, Past Pupils and Friends gathered to at St Joseph’s Maori Girls’ College in Greenmeadows, gathered to farewell Dame Georgina Kingi.

Bishop Peter Cullinane celebrated Mass. The Students’ waiata were beautifully performed and accompanied by all present.

Georgina has had a long association with St Joseph’s.  She started there as a student, later returning as a teacher and was then appointed as Principal in 1987.

To retire after 60 years of strong association at St Joseph’s, we acknowledge, is not an easy move. We sincerely thank Georgina for her dedicated mahi over all these years and ask God’s Blessing on the next stage of her life.
